KICKS ROUTE 66 COOKOFF - JUNE, 20, 2010
The support of chili cooks continue to amaze me, in spite of the 100 degree heat, stifling humidity and conflicts for Fathers Day family functions, we pulled off a successful Regional Cook off at Kicks Family Entertainment Center, Springfield, IL. Public attendance was fair. Donated raffle basket ticket sales and local buisness sponsorship were both up this year.

WOW, the weather was GREAT!! It can be over 100 degrees in Sacramento in May with the normal being about 88 degrees. We were very fortunate that it was a mild 74 degrees and sunny with a light breeze most of the day. NEBRASKA COOKOFFS - JUNE 5-6, 2010
It was a rainy start to the day on Saturday - but we finished on a grand note on both days.
Our charity this year was Cars 4 Heroes - a branch of Cars 4 Christmas - and we were able to witness an Iraqi vet receiving a vehicle on both days. We were very touched and were happy to be a part of helping someone repair their lives.

The weather was awesome, the crowd was great, and the location was more than any chili cook could ask for. The 1st time 5 Alarm Mountain Madness District Cookoff was held at the Nemacolin Woodlands Resort in Farmington, Pennsylvania. Friday had a relaxed cooks reception at the ski lodge.
