What a beautiful day for the Arlington Street Festival in Poughkeepsie, NY. They have hosted the New York State Chili Cookoff for the past 2 years and this year was even better. ALABAMA STATE CHILI COOKOFF
The (resurrected) International Chili Society sanctioned Alabama State Chili Cook Off is now officially in the history books! From all reports, everything went as planned and the Riverside FD will receive portions of the days proceeds.

ChiliFest, the West Virginia State Chili Championship is in the books and what a day it was. CATTLE DRIVE CHILI DONATION
Peter Burke from Cattle Drive Chili has generously donated a supply of chili that will be available on site for cooks who may need to supplement their People’s Choice Chili. The chili will be available in the Judging Area beginning on Friday morning. Peter and other representatives from Cattle Drive will be attending the WCCC. A FRIENDLY REMINDER FOR COOKS COMPETING AT THE...
Cook stoves must be of the propane or butane type such as a Coleman stove that uses bottled gas. Please, no WHITE GAS stoves - this type usually drives the fire marshal nuts! BEST WAY TO PACK FROZEN GOODS ON AIRLINES TO WCCC...
As you know, I travel all over the country on airlines to chili cookoffs and was asked to give my technique for packing frozen meat/sauces/peppers/etc.
I simply double bag the frozen goods (in case of leakage) and pack or wrap clothes around them. I check the bag. The frozen goods will stay frozen, or most nearly so, for a good 12-16 hours. Keep in mind that the cargo holds on most jets are...

The Southern Maine Regional Chili Cook Off was held 8-29-10 at Scarborough Downs Race Track in Scarborough, ME.
