Still need to qualify????????
Town of Superior, CO 12th Annual Chili Fest!
Saturday, September 8th, 2012
Make plans now, just 10 days away!
Just 40 minutes from Denver International Airport, ok…maybe 45 if you stop to take pictures
If you’re putting off qualifying till the last minute, can’t seem to get past 2nd or 3rd Place, or just want to come out and cook in hopes of qualifying for World’s in Charleston, WV, then come out and cook at the 12th Annual Town of Superior Regional Cookoff on September 8th at Community Park. With great views of the foothills of Boulder County in the background, this year’s event is going to be even bigger and better than last year’s. Mike Rook will serve as Chief Judge, and Kay Rook as Chief Scorekeeper. All proceeds benefit the Boulder County Incident Management Team.
The Town of Superior does this one up right!! Expect crowds of between 6000-8000!
Globalsound Studio Bands and That Eighties Band as well as activities for the entire family will be adding entertainment to this first class event!!!
No entry fees, provided you supply 2+ gallons of People’s Choice. You must be an ICS member. If you are a new cook, the Town of Superior will pay you’re ICS membership fee of $50.
Prize money is as follows:
Red – $400, $200, $100
Verde – $200, $150, $100
Salsa – $100, $75, $50
Back by popular demand!!! A Guacamole “Guac-Off” with a $75 first prize and prizes for 2nd and 3rd!!! (this is not an ICS event but certainly bragging rights will be coveted)
This year’s winners in Red and Green (not all winners as previously posted) not only qualify for the World Championship in Charleston but also have an invitation to this year’s World Food Championships held in Las Vegas, NV, November 1-4….one of only 50 cookoffs chosen to participate in this qualification.
