GET READY FOR CHAMPIONSHIP CHILI!
The anticipation amongst the teams is rising. The biggest event of the year for Chiliheads is coming September 30th to Manchester, N.H. In just a little over two weeks the world’s best chili cooks will square off for a championship payday and bragging rights as the World’s Champion in chili.
2011 marks the 45th annual celebration of the World’s Championship Chili Cookoff, with this year’s event returning to Manchester N.H., the site for last year’s WCCC. Sanctioned by the International Chili Society, one of the largest food-competition organizations in the world, the World’s Championship Chili Cookoff is expected to draw in excess of 30,000 fans and a portion of each ticket sold goes to benefit the partnering charities.
Also, proudly partnering with the World’s Championship Chili Cookoff this year is Kraft NATURALS, Tabasco, the National Onion Association, Hormel, Target Up and Up, Master of Mixes and Deep River Snacks. Look for their tents throughout the festival grounds and share in their tasty samples. You never know what surprises might await you at each! In the past, attendees have been treated to samples of new foods that had never been tasted along with amazing giveaways and contests.
Chili is the name of the game at the WCCC. There’s absolutely no doubting that fact. Whether you prefer a thick hearty spicy chili, or a thin chili with more subtle tastes, nobody leaves the festival without a favorite (or with an empty stomach for that matter).
So get ready for some championship chili. Make plans to join us in Manchester for the best chili cookoff on the planet! And if you don’t already consider yourself a ‘chilihead’ don’t be surprised if you leave as one.
