ALL OHIO REGIONAL
A “teacup” full of rain fell on our beloved Fire Museum as we started the day with a “Bang”!
As we honored all of the victims of 911, silence fell on an impressive crowd of motorcycle riders/enthusiasts, firefighters showing off their Antique Fire Apparatuses, Families, Volunteers and Chili Cooks. The Police & Fire Emerald Society Pipes & Drums played, a full Military Honor Guard marched and the singing of the National Anthem was sung by one of our own ICS chili cooks. It was an emotional moment for all.
And then the “BANG”! What a surprise!
People were hanging out of the Museum windows to get a better view. People on the ground cranked their necks and some stared in disbelief.
First quite noisily an Air Care/Life Flight Helicopter did a “Fly Over”. Then as a tribute to our Military, we all stared in AWE as a B-2 BOMBER glided like a kite right over the Museum!!! Bill “Gumby” talked to the pilot as he flew overhead. Truly a dream come true for Bill.
The Fire Museum was open to the public for Free!
The food and drinks were sold by donation only!
Clowns, Face Painters, Pie and Jalapeno Eaters kept the crowd entertained and if you were having too much fun UC Health was on “Stand By” to give FREE health screenings.
The cooks were warmly welcomed with a great “goodie bag” and lots of sweet treats from local bakeries for breakfast. Thanks to all of our wonderful cooks and friends who supported this annual major fundraiser for the Fire Museum. Thanks to our wonderful volunteer staff!
