WEST VIRGINIA STATE COOKOFF
ChiliFest, the West Virginia State Chili Championship is in the books and what a day it was. Beautiful sunny weather; great musical entertainment; lots of families with their kids enjoyed the Kids Corner events; lots & lots of People’s Choice chili that sold at a $1 per sample ticket and raised over $28,000, our largest chili contribution ever. We also gave a brand new Toyota Camry away and with the raffle total and chili samples we raised over $56,000 for the Ronald McDonald House. Even in these recessionary times people still have big, big hearts. Thanks to all the cooks for participating, all the 70+ judges who got the job done and to Bob McClain our head judge and his lovely wife Eileen the head scorekeeper.
