Chili Cooks!
Chili for the Troops VI is on!
Word from Soldiers Angels POC ( point of contact) Greta Perry is that the reigning chili champ from CFOT V challenged all troops in his area. They just returned stateside from Kuwait & are now stationed in ND.
We send trophies, old cook off t shirts and aprons ,canned items and the spices to make a batch of People’s Choice chili. Everything but the meat & pots & the Troops make the chili. Usually everything will fit in a USPS $10 box.
To date we have 10 teams that need a “sponsor”.
This has never been about politics for the ICS cooks that have participated in previous Chili for Our Troops. It is about supporting someone’s son, daughter, father or mother that have made sacrifices for us. What better way to show we care than to assist them to forget that they are far away from home ……and now making chili? This is a chance for us to support our troops as only chili cooks can really understand. Of course, the chili cooks/soldiers are already talking smack about who makes the best chili.
Bill Noonan, ICS Grand Master Chili Cook, James Beard award winner and owner of Caldwell County Chili (www.caldwellcountychili.com) will donate a case of his spices to the cook off.
ALL money raised will be donated to a wounded soldier!
Please keep in mind that we are limited by the number of teams of soldiers that enter. So this is a first come first served event.
Once I know where we will send our packages, I will notify the chili teams sponsors. If YOU are interested in helping in any way, please contact me & I’ll put you on the list!
