LITTLETON ELKS (BACK TO BACK) COLORADO DISTRICTS - APRIL 9-10, 2011
Saturday, April 9th - Ropin’ Peppers for Military Kids District
Sunday, April 10th - Cowboys for Kids District
Only about a month away, these two District cookoffs in Littleton, Colorado, promise to be a fun filled weekend event. Both cookoffs support Cowboys for Kids, a great organization that helps military kids, ages 9-12 that have a parent overseas or that have lost a parent overseas, through equine therapy.
Security will be on sight Saturday night, so you can leave tents and supplies overnight.
Saturday’s events also include a Guac-Off and a Little Miss and a separate Little Mr. Chili Pepper contests. Sunday’s events will include a Jalapeno eating contest and again Little Miss and Mr. Chili Pepper contests.
Entry fees are:
Red - $35 + 1 Gallon of People’s Choice (More is appreciated)
Verde - $25
Salsa - $15
Guac-Off - $10 (Saturday Only)
Prize money each day (very good for Districts) is as follows:
Red - $300, $200, $100 + Trophies
Verde - $200, $100, $50 + Trophies
Salsa - $100, $75, $50 + Trophies
Guac-Off - $50 Gift Certificate + Trophy (Saturday only)
People’s Choice - $100
Best Booth - $100
Best Wacky Cook Award
In an effort to get more Red cooks, if a current ICS Red Chili cook brings in a new non-ICS cook to enter Red Chili, the current ICS Red Chili cook will have their Red entry fee waived and the new cook will have their $50 ICS membership paid for by the Elks Lodge.
Remember, if we get more than 20 cooks each day, these cookoffs will become Regionals that day, and you qualify for Red that day. Verde and Salsa will qualify if we have over 7 entries.
