TENNESSEE STATE CHILI COOKOFF - JULY 23, 2011

Hello Chili Heads

We are busy here in Shelbyville gearing up for our 4th Annual ICS Chili Cook-Off to be held July 23rd, 2011.  We are looking forward to the return of our past contestants and having fun again this year.

Don’t delay in getting registered - THE FIRST 10 CONTESTANTS TO SIGN UP will be entered into a SPECIAL DRAWING.

Judges are being chosen – boy it is hard to top last year’s celebrities, but I will do my best to make it a fun, competitive time.  The good news is we will have Jeff & Julie Nestor back with us to work with me on the Judging.  Yes, I will be HEAD JUDGE this year.

I have closed W.R.L. Market & Deli which means I will be able to be out on the Cooking Scene, working with the judges and enjoying the day with all of you.  Shelbyville Sweet Shoppe has moved into my space and they are working with us because we are having a CHILI, CHOCOLATE & CHICKEN EXTRAVAGANZA that day.  So, if you want to cook any chicken on that day, let me know, as Tyson is supplying the chicken for us.

An incentive to increase the team numbers we are offering a full refund of your entry fee (excluding the $50 ICS Fee) if you, as a returning team, bring a new team into our Tennessee State competition.  That’s right, you will have $30 CASH waiting for you when you and the other team show up to cook.   Just to say                                  “We are glad to have you back in good old Shelbyville”

Also, we have added A NEW CATEGORY this year and will be recognizing those who work hard to make their booth look SOOO GOOD.

Best overall Chili Décor/Team Name will win a prize.

BTW,   Our current reigning Tennessee State Champion, Don Cullum of Texas, has kept in touch and has informed me he has proposed to Karen (Reigning Arizona State Champion).  Thought maybe we would have a Wedding on the Square, but he says the date is   9 -10 -11.

We extend hearty “congratulations” to both of them. (They both got a “winner” with that relationship.)

Some asked for Tables and Chairs to be available to make traveling easier.  We have checked on renting some, but they must be reserved at the time of your reservation and no later than July 10th.

                    6’ tables are $10 each

                    8’ tables are $12 each

                    Chairs are $2 each.

We hope this will make it easier for some of you that are traveling a long distance.
