PUEBLO, CO BACK to BACKS - MAY 21-22, 2011
Saturday, May 21st - Wild Wild West Festival Regional
Sunday, May 22nd - Southern Colorado Regional
Only a month way, these two Regional cookoffs in downtown Pueblo, Colorado promise to be only a part of a very fun filled weekend. The cookoffs are a favorite event of the Professional Bull Riders (PBR), based there in Pueblo, and the Greater Pueblo Chamber of Commerce main event called the Wild Wild West Festival. More than 10,000 people per day are expected to attend this local event. There will be downtown festivals, carnival rides, a Fan Zone, marketplace booths, and live entertainment.
Because of regulations with the Pueblo Heath Department, People’s Choice chili has to be made on site, not brought from home. A minimum of 1 Gallon of People’s Choice Chili is required, but we would appreciate all of you making extra, since it is the only money maker for the charity on both days of the cookoffs. Also, there will be a $100 prize each day for the People’s Choice winner.
Any new ICS Red cook, will have to pay their $50 membership, but will get their Red entry fee waived for that day.
After Saturday’s cookoff, there will be a cooks party at the Riverside Bar & Grill (George Lott’s sister’s bar), with munchies, beer, and a cash bar for any other adult beverage. Directions will be provided at Saturday’s cookoff.
Entry fees are:
Red - $30 + 1 Gallon of People’s Choice (More is appreciated)
Verde - $30
Salsa - $20
Prize money and trophies each day:
Red - $300, $200, $100
