The River City Regional Chili Cookoff ~ Saturday, May 21, 2011
The Old Town Elk Grove River City Regional Chili Cookoff is slated for Saturday, May 21, 2011. If you have not already sent in your application, to cook or RSVP to judge, please do so as soon as possible. By signing up on the ICS website, you will be automatically entered to win our drawing. You could win a portion of our $250 prize pot. We need your help in keeping this a regional. As of now we are short the required 20.
We expect 10,000 - 15,000 in public attendance. Old Town closes Main Street for over 4 blocks, a main stage for LIVE entertainment, secondary stages with Karaoke, Teen Idols, Jazz and Children’s music. Our main stage will be surrounded by the Food Court and Beer Garden. There will be a huge kid’s area with petting zoo, pony rides, bounce houses and plenty of kid’s games.

The hotel is located at I-5 Laguna exit, Apprx 8 miles from the cookoff site. (These rooms are blocked out until May 13, 2011. After the 13th they return to Reg Price)

Set up begins at 7:00am. Cars need to be off the street by 9:00am. There is designated Contestant parking. Cars will not be allowed on the street until after 5:00pm

You will need to bring all of your own equipment, including tables, chairs, canopies, stoves, utensils, and a fire extinguisher. If you are flying in, please let me know ASAP and I can arrange for a table and chairs. The fire department may come by looking to inspect your fire extinguisher. If you have an extra, please bring them. If you think you may have a problem, please let me know and we’ll do everything we can to help.
